Lighting Your Face
It may seem like a small thing, but getting your lighting right can make a big difference in the way you appear on camera. When it’s right, it may not even be noticeable, but when it is wrong, it can be the biggest sabbateur in projecting confidence. Getting your lighting right may require you to move around your laptop to a different part of your office, or add some other lighting in your room.
Upgrade Your Sound
One of the most common mistakes that people make in video conferencing is using the sound that comes with your computer. You should use a different sound source such as a headset, a microphone or even AirPods.
Studies have shown that people are experiencing Zoom Fatigue. This is when people feel physically, mentally, cognitively, and emotionally exhausted because of having to listen to people on video conferences with sound that is difficult to hear. You don’t want people to walk away from your meeting with Zoom Fatigue because of the sound on your end. You want to sound better than everyone else or at least as good as everyone else.
Say NO to WiFi
Pull out an Ethernet cable and connect directly to your router. You cannot afford to have your video interrupted constantly by an iffy connection.
